GREAT BARRIER REEF TOURS
Air Whitsundays — Heart Reef
Airlie Beach
So, we thought why just see the reef by boat when we can see if from the air and take in all its beauty. This tour did not disappoint one little bit. We did the Reef and Whitehaven Discovery tour which included an 80min flight time taking in views of Whitsunday hinterland, Conway National Park, Airlie Beach, Whitsunday Passage, Hayman Island, Hook Island, Whitsunday Island (the largest national park island in the group), Whitehaven Beach and the amazing swirling sands of Hill Inlet.
We then flew across the Coral Sea to the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park to take in the sights of Bait Reef, home of the amazing stepping stones, Hook Reef and Hardy Lagoon (the most photographed location of the entire Great Barrier Reef Marine Park!). We also got to see one of the biggest natural wonders on the reef. The perfectly shaped Heart Reef.
After seeing the amazing sights of the reef, we flew over to Whitehaven Beach where we landed and got to spend the next hour having fun on the amazing white sand and crystal-clear water. Most of this time was spent watching the boys jumping of the plane and into the water.
It was definitely a tour that we will never forget.
