Hot Air Ballooning Gold Coast
Is Hot Air Ballooning on your bucket list?
If not then it definitely needs to be. We had the most incredible morning with thanks to Pelago who is a new travel experience platform by Singapore Airlines. We picked an amazing tour offered by Hot Air Balloon Gold Coast who took us on a magical ride over the Gold Coast Hinterland. It finished with a hot buffet breakfast awaiting us with a glass of champagne and squeezed fresh orange for the kids at the O’rileys Winery.
The Gibb River Road
The Gibb River Road experience is an incredible adventure that takes you through the heart of the Kimberley’s. The road runs from Derby to Wyndham in WA and is approx. 660kms long.
It is rough, rocky and corrugated with water crossings and supplies few and far between. The epic water holes, stunning waterfalls and the sheer beauty and remoteness it offers is well worth the journey if you have a 4WD and a sense of adventure.
Bareboating around the Whitsundays
Looking for that ultimate family experience? Then you should definitely consider becoming your own skipper and experience all the Whitsundays has to offer all from the comfort of your own boat. This is exactly what we did for an incredible 8 nights back in August. It was one of those once in a life time experiences that was on our list to do. We had an incredible time and made memories that will last a life time. The best part was we didn’t even need a boat licence or any previous sailing experience to bareboat charter ourselves.
Pumpkin Island
Is Lady Elliot Island on your bucket list? This beautiful coral cay is located at the southern tip of the World Heritage listed Great Barrier Reef. This paradise island is only a 20-minute flight from Bundaberg. Flying by plane is the only way to access this remote island. You can also fly from Hervey Bay, Gold Coast and Brisbane (Redcliffe).
Capricorn Caves
If you’re after the ultimate caving experience then the Capricorn Caves ticks all the boxes. It has something for every ability and age. This above ground cave system is cut through a limestone mountain and has an extraordinary amount of passages to explore. It is one of Australia’s largest privately owned cave systems and has been passed down from one generation to another. The story of how this cave was discovered and explored is fascinating. This is talked about during the tours so I will not ruin it for you now.
