Lady Musgrove Island

This Island is AMAZING! We jumped on this tour from Bundaberg and we were so excited for what awaited. The boat ride out to the island is about 2.5hrs and can get very rough. Make sure you have sea sickness tablets otherwise it could be a very uncomfortable ride. I must admit, it was a hard trip out there. A couple of the kids felt a bit worse for where and we were questioning our choices about this tour. Then we saw the island in the distance. Instantly everybody sprung to life and it was like nobody had been feeling ill.

The absolute beauty of this island is just incredible. The water that surrounds it had the most amazing blue colour. It really was a tropical oasis in the middle of the ocean. Once we dropped anchor it was time for the island tour. This was a guided walk which took your through the heart of the island and we got to see how the nesting birds created the island.

Next was the glass bottom boat tour which took you from the beach back to the boat. You were able to see what you were about to discover and it got us so excited. Once on the boat we ate lunch so fast so that we could get into the water as quickly as possible. We had already spotted turtles on the glass bottom boat and the boys were just itching to get in and find them. It didn’t take us long in the beautifully clear water to find them. They were everywhere!

Then there was the coral, it was just so diverse and colourful and teaming with fish. We could have snorkelled there for hours. This tour is so worth the long boat ride out and we are hoping to go again at some point.
