Snorkelers Dream

This place had it all. From beautiful coral reefs, secluded island beaches and adventurous 4WD tracks. We could happily move here. The centre of this beautiful region is Yeppoon. We loved this town and its friendly atmosphere. The promenade is full of things for the kids to do from the free lagoon pool to the free splash park. 

The Keppel Islands surrounding are just beautiful. Stunning clear waters and a snorkelers dream. We stayed on Great Keppel Island for a few nights and had the best time snorkelling, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, we hiked, we swam and went for an amazing tour with Keppel Explorer.

If you love caves then you need to check out Capricorn Caves. The visit to the cathedral in the caves was just breathtaking. We also did some adventuring caving to which was so much fun. The boys still talk about it.

If you feel like getting off the beaten track then head to Byfield NP. This has an epic 4WD track that leads you to some of the areas most stunning beaches like the beautiful Five Rocks.

If you get the chance definitely spend some time in the region and explore all it has to offer. You will not be disappointed.  We stayed at the Discovery Parks Coolwaters which is about 15mins south of Yeppoon and a great spot to base yourself.
