Great Keppel Island

This island is absolutely beautiful! The water, the sand, the coral the marine life! It has it all. 

We ventured over with Keppel Konnections which was only 30mins in calm waters. The boys even got a chance to drive the boat which they really enjoyed. 

We stayed at Great Keppel Island Hydeway in one of the beach front cabins. This was a great location to wake up to or sit and watch the sunset. The rooms are fairly dated but we hardly spent any time in them as there was just so much to explore. 

The coral around this island is amazing and should not be missed. There are a number of spots to snorkel at but our favourite was Monkey Beach. This is about a 1 hr walk from the resort but totally worth it. If you don’t feel like carrying all your snorkel gear you can get in touch with GKI water sports and they can do a drop off and pickup by their boat. We were lucky enough on the day we went to have the whole beach to ourselves. We snorkelled and swam for hours and saw a few turtles, heaps of fish and some huge stingrays. It was a day to be remembered.

You can also hire SUPs, kayaks and snorkel gear from GKI water sports which are located on the way to the beach from the resort. The also offer diving tours which look amazing. 

We can’t wait to visit here again!
